STEVIE APPLETON AND THE FREEBIRDS
Multi-instrumentalist Stevie Appleton made an amazing connection with music at a very young age, learning the piano when he was just 6. Aged fifteen, Stevie performed twice a week in one of London's top restaurants improvising around a huge repertoire of songs to fill the 4 hour shifts with. Around this time he also started writing his own songs and hasn't stopped since.
Stevie has been patiently working further on his follow up material for the last five years, being influenced a lot by Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley amongst many others. Having been on the same billing as Stevie Wonder and John Legend, he is now looking forward to touring again and performing songs from his upcoming album..
The Freebirds are a London based band who perform popular music spanning all the decades. Live is what its about and their unique take on many classic tunes will have you singing and dancing the night away.
A long running member of the Nova Music collective, guitar player and vocalist Ralph Taylor was born and raised in Suffolk, where he first fused his blend of alternative pop with a loop pedal. Ralph has always been drawn to a range of influences including indie, funk, hip-hop, jazz and folk, carefully blending genres into a distinctive layered style - never afraid to use electronic production alongside traditional songwriting techniques. Having played over 100 gigs in London both with and without his band this 18 year maverick is sure to go far.
Music that draws the line between Ed Sheeran & Jamie T” – Proud Camden
“I’ve seen a lot of musicians live, but Ralph Taylor is one of a select few who can silence a room and really make the crowd listen to each and every word.” – Rory Callan (Roar Visuals).
HONEY & THE BEAR
British folk and roots inspired duo, Honey & the Bear, combine delicately interweaving vocal harmonies with powerful guitar riffs, foot stomping rhythms and catchy melodies.
The multi instrumentalist pair, comprised of songwriters Jon Hart (guitar, bass, mandolin) and Lucy Sampson (guitar, ukulele, bass, banjo & percussion), have been writing together since early 2014, having met at a songwriting event two years previous.
Since then, they have played many venues across East Anglia as well as travelling to Germany for their first European tour. Together they have played an array of fantastic UK festivals including Ely Folk, FolkEast and Maverick.
The amalgamation of both their unique musical styles makes for a dynamic and ever-changing live performance.
